I love what I do! Since 1996, I have been able to get out of bed and truly be excited to come to ‘work.’ Although there have been some humbling moments and days that are frustrating, overall I am lucky in the fact that I get to do what I love.

I got started in the landscape business the way most in our industry do – with a lawn mower in the back of a truck (or in my case the trunk of my car). I was working at the Player’s Club golf course in Yorktown, Indiana back in 1992/1993 while attending Ball State University. After my work at the golf course was complete I would take on additional work at the houses that surrounded the golf course. Before long, the ‘side jobs’ were more than my full time job. Soon thereafter, ‘Jay-Crew’ was born. Now, many years later… as they say, the rest is history.

Instead of being behind the mower or laying down mulch, my days are spent differently now. My main functions are sales and organization of the company. Every day is unique, which I enjoy, and my favorite part of the job is to be out with clients on their property and being able to solve their problems.

Outside of work? I am very happily married to my wonderful wife Darcy. We have one son, Micah, and another on the way! We live in Yorktown and like to spend time with our friends and family. I really enjoy trying to be a good husband and father. We also attend Union Chapel church in Muncie and try to donate our time and talents as much as possible. With one young child and another on the way, you get the picture of what my life looks like at home.

John Matthew

I'm the landscape designer and sales manager at Jay-Crew. This is my eighth year with the company. I studied landscape architecture and natural resources while getting my degree at Ball State University. I have more than 20 years of experience in the landscape design/build industry. My responsibilities at Jay-Crew include preparing designs and/or estimates for both residential and commercial landscape projects.

I really enjoy working with clients to find appropriate solutions for their landscape needs. I am conscientious about finding creative yet practical designs that address the desires of the client and the site conditions of their particular property. The unique challenges each project brings make them interesting.

When I'm not working at Jay-Crew I enjoy hunting, fishing and spending time with my wife, Amy, and our daughters Abby and Colleen. The girls keep us very busy with their involvement in school activities, sports, and 4-H.

Kevin Kellermeyer

Operations Manager - kkellermeyer@jaycrew.com

Hello! I am the Operations Manager here at Jay-Crew Landscape and have been here since 2009. I schedule the jobs and services, manage purchasing, and our fleet of vehicles and equipment. I also developed our lawn care division. I have spent the past 35 years in the “green industry” and have extensive knowledge and experience providing service delivery. Although “retired” from The Scotts/Miracle-Gro Company as a Regional Director with 27 years seniority, I had a strong desire to continue my career in this industry. Because of the professional and caring environment at Jay-Crew, I am glad to be a part of the team.

When I am not a work, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Maetta, our children and grandchildren. I also enjoy reading, travel, sports, music and gardening. We are very active in our local church and have a strong interest in international volunteer service projects.

Keith Baughman

Hello, my name is Keith Baughman and I am a landscape architect with Jay-Crew. I graduated from Ball State University in 1991 with a degree in Landscape Architecture and minor in Business. Since that time, I have been in the landscape design/build field in the Indianapolis area.

I am excited heading up the expansion of Jay-Crew into the Indianapolis market. Jason and the rest of the Jay-Crew family have done an incredible job of building the company in and around Muncie. Our satisfied clients in Indianapolis are expanding on that reputation.

My favorite part of the job is being able to take somebody’s dream and help turn it into reality. Over the years I have been able to work on all kinds of residential and commercial landscape projects from simple projects that dress up a front entryway, to beautiful ornamental ponds, to extensive commercial installations. My goal on a project is to listen to your needs and wants, and then use that information to create a landscape that fulfills, and exceeds, those expectations.

I live on the Northwest side of Indianapolis with my wife, Susanne, and two daughters, Ashlea and Cortni. When not working, we keep ourselves busy with activities at our church, Bethel UMC, soccer, softball and singing with the Indianapolis Children’s Choir.

Amanda Goad

Hello, my name is Amanda Goad and I began working as the Office Manager at Jay-Crew in January 2011. I have a number of responsibilities around the office at Jay-Crew including billing, processing, payroll, and I am most likely the first person you speak with when you call into the office.

I graduated from Ball State University in 2005 with a degree in Marketing. Since graduating, I have held a few positions in different industries including finance and insurance. I have found that through all my experience in other positions, I enjoy my current position at Jay-Crew more than anywhere else I’ve ever worked. The customers I speak with on the phone and my co-workers truly make each day at work enjoyable.

I currently live in Muncie with my husband Derrick. When I’m not working I enjoy working in my yard, coaching volleyball, boating, playing with my dogs, and spending time with family and friends.

Rick Pedigo

Irrigation Foreman

Hi, my name is Rick Pedigo and I am the irrigation foreman at Jay-Crew. I have worked at Jay-Crew since 2002 and have been doing irrigation since 1988. I am experienced at both commercial and residential installation. My experience extends to maintaining and repairing all types of irrigation systems.

My duties include designing, installing, and servicing all systems that come through our company. I take great pride in making sure any system that Jay-Crew does is quality-installed.

Originally from Indianapolis, I moved to Muncie in 2002. I have two adult children. I've been a die-hard Colts fan since they moved to Indy in 1984. I've also been a Jeff Gordon fan for just as long. Most Sundays you will find me in front of my TV watching football or a race.

Cornelio Diaz

I'm Cornelio Diaz and I am a landscape foreman at Jay-Crew. I have worked at Jay-Crew since 2005 and I've worked in the landscape industry for more than 18 years.

I've lived in Muncie for more than 20 years. My wife Kim and I have a daughter and a son. When I'm not working at Jay-Crew, I like to spend my time with my children and working in my own yard.

I'm a team leader and I take great pride in the quality of our work at Jay-Crew. If you see me in your yard, feel free to ask me any questions you have. I have a great deal of horticultural knowledge and will be happy to explain what is going on with your landscape.

Steve Michael

Landscape Foreman

I’m Steve Michael and I’m one of the landscape foremen at Jay-Crew. I was born and raised in Anderson and started traveling to Muncie to work at Jay-Crew in 2008. I started working in construction at the age of sixteen and that’s where I got my first experience in irrigation, landscape and hardscape projects.

I really enjoy the various clients we work with. My favorite is working on hardscapes. I have over twenty years of experience in construction, irrigation, and hardscape work. Some of my favorite projects include working on large, complex designs. Trying to figure out and solve multiple issues that can arise with these larger projects is demanding. I’m always up for a challenge.

You may have seen some of the projects I’ve worked on. One public project was the parking lot behind Scotty’s in the Ball State Village area. I also worked on retaining walls at Taylor University and have done several residential brick paver patios and walks around Muncie. I also work on residential and commercial landscaping projects.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy fishing, camping, and spending time with my family.

Gerardo Balderrama

Landscape Foreman

Hello, my name is Gerardo and I started working at Jay-Crew in 2010. Prior to that, I spent 16 years working for a landscape company in the Indianapolis market. During that time, I worked on a variety of landscape projects, but my main area of focus was building patios, sidewalks, and retaining walls. Those types of projects are my favorite because they allow me to be creative and I enjoy the detail that is required.

I am originally from Tampico, Mexico but I have been a resident of Anderson, Indiana for over 20 years. My wife Stacy and I live in Anderson and we have three children, two boys and one girl. When I am not working or spending time with my family, I love to go fishing or do carpentry work – I really like making small pieces of furniture.

Doyle Brunk

Lawn Care Forman

I joined the Jay-Crew team in 2010 after over 20 years of experience in the lawn care industry. I am responsible for all our lawn applications. I am a Registered Technician which means I passed a comprehensive examination covering all aspects of lawn care, and I take additional credit hours each year to maintain the RT status.

I like being able to work outdoors the most, but puling 400’ of heavy hose would not be my favorite thing. I like Jay-Crew because it is more committed to quality of work rather than quantity. I also like the other members of the team and how well they work together.

Outside Jay-Crew, I spend time with my wife and three daughters. Though I am a native of Missouri, I truly feel I'm a Hoosier since my family was raised in Muncie. My favorite hobby is fishing and more fishing, but I only keep a few as I am the only one in my family who likes fish!
